Senehasa marked the World Children’s Day on October 1st, Thursday (01.10.2020) with the gracious presence of the First Lady Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests, including General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, Navy Commander, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, Air Force Commander, and their spouses Mrs. Sujeewa Nelson, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, Mrs. Mayuri Prabhavi Dias respectively also attended the event.

Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit at the Ministry of Defence, Mrs Chithrani Gunaratne, Additional Secretary (Ministry of Defence), Additional Secretary Finance (Ministry of Finance), Chiefs of Staff of tri forces, CSD Director General and his spouse, Chairman of the Ranaviru Sewa Authority and his spouse, experts and resource personnel were among other invited guests who attended the event.

The event also marked the launching of the SERRIC website (www.senehasa.care) by the Chief Guest at the invitation of the management. The First Lady also planted a Mango sapling in the compound and interacted with the children of Senehasa bringing immense joy to the children and their parents. Gifts were also handed personally by the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests to the children on account of World Children’s Day. The event was brought to an end with the generous presence of famous singer Lahiru Perera who entertained the children with his performance.
